Spinel

Spinel originally comes from the Mogok valley of Myanmar and area of Kachin State (known as Nanyarseik or Namya) of Myanmar. In Burma (now known as Myanmar), where some of the most beautiful colours are mined, spinel was recognized as a separate gem species as early as 1587. Moreover, the fluorescence of Myanmar spinels is so strong that even a tiny gem glows distinctly in the dim light.
